DVD Playback - General Questions Q: My recently upraded Mac wont recognize a DVD when I insert the disc A: If you are using Mac OS X, check the "CDs & DVDs" preference under the "Hardware" section of your "System Preferences." Make sure it is set properly for each type of disc you will be inserting in your drive. Sometimes Mac OS software upgrades can change the settings of these preferences. Also, if you have had a CDRW/DVD drive installed by MCE or one of our dealers and previously had only a CD-ROM or CD-RW, the Mac OS X installer did not install Apple DVD Player on your computer. You will need to download it here and place it in your Applications folder.
