Follow
these steps in order to use your Superdrive with iTunes &
Finder Burning under OSX:
- Under
Mac OS 9.2.x, download the MCET6012CDR.device-plugin.sit
file and double click to unstuff it if it does not unstuff automatically.
- Still
within Mac OS 9.2.x, open the following folders: System/Library/Frameworks/DiscRecording.framework/Versions/A/Resources/DevicePlugIns
- Drop
the "MCET6012CDR.device-plugin" file into the "DevicePlugIns"
folder.
- Remove
the "ToshibaCDR.device-plugin" file from the folder
- Restart your Mac under Mac OS X.
Mac OS 9.1 to Mac OS 9.2.x:
In order to use the MCET6012CDR.device-plugin with Apples iTunes and Disc Burner software under Mac OS 9.1 to 9.2.x, you will need to have the latest iTunes software (v2.0.4 as of this writing), available from:

the latest Authoring Support Update (currently 1.1.9) available

and the latest version of Disc Burner (currently 1.0.1) available

Mac OS 9.2.x automatically includes Disc Burner v1.0.2. Disc Burner
v1.0.1 is for those users using Mac OS 9.1. (Upgrading to Mac
OS 9.2.x is highly recommended.)
Follow these steps in order to use the iCDRW16 FireWire CDRW with iTunes and Disc Burner under Mac OS 9.1 to Mac OS 9.2.x.
- Download
the MCET6012CDR.sit
file and double click to unstuff it if it does not unstuff automatically.
- Drop
the "MCE-L16CDR" Authoring Support File into the "Authoring
Support Files" folder located in the "Extensions"
folder within your "System Folder".
- Remove
the "ToshibaCDR" file from the "Authoring Support
Files" folder
- Restart
your Mac and you will now be able to use the Superdrive with
iTunes and Disc Burner.
